Simple Self Change Technique , Not Will

After reading it from reader digest, self-change on my bad behaviours isn’t that had to implement. According to the author, the survey was conducted by the University of California and these are what they found out:

Three M’s: Modify your environment, Monitor Your Behaviour and Make commitments

Modify your environment

Lots of family members have bad habit of eating in living room. My mum is one of those who complain about it most of the time in the view of the fact that she is the one who has to clean up all the mess. Though most of parents aware about it, they don’t bother about it as they think there is nothing they can do. WRONG! Watching tv with a pack of snack food and some drinks is what children always do. Simply by removing away the coffee table and putting a carpet there help improve the situation. They will automatically put back their empty cup or glass back to kitchen. Moreover, this will also help them keep in mind that they shouldn’t bring their cups or glasses out to living room as there is no place for them to put.

Monitor Your Behaviour

Manglish (so called Malaysia English) always have the sentences ending with “la”. Accumulate the number “la” occurs in your speaking whenever you catch yourself saying it. You will be surprise to find out you say it less frequently in just a few days. Weigh yourself regularly and you may well start to lose weigh. Keep a record of what you spend and you’ll probably start spending more wisely. The fact is, if you monitor what you do, you’ll probably do better.

Make commitments.

Making commitments always related to rewards or punishments. It puts some pressure on you, and that’s often just what you need. For instance, a insurance agent who make a promise to the public saying he will run nakedly around the office if he didn’t hit the target will definitely try 3 times harder than those who promise not to eat for 3 days if they didn’t hit the target.

Conclusion, self-change with skill, not will.
